I was still living in the Hornsmill area of Hertford at the time and was then old enough to go into my local, the Harts Horns, which was five minutes from where I lived. I can recall saying something in conversation to one of my mates who also lived in Hornsmill about a mike and amplifier I had, and also a mike stand, and he turned to me and said something like ‘If you form a band I’ll join also’. We never did and we both must have been dreaming at the time.
I did however set up all the gear mentioned indoors and sang to my vinyl records on my record player. I thought I had a good voice back then and talking about the Harts Horns and bands I did go up and tried singing with one band. I was only 18 or perhaps older at that time.
