On Wednesday evening 25th May, by kind permission of Mr.Voss, a Clay Pigeon Shoot was held at New Hall Farm, and we are pleased to announce that £17.0.6d. was raised for the club, made up as follows:-
Expenditure. Clay Pigeons, Prizes, insurance & Advertising, refreshments. £25.0.0d
Receipts For shoot and refreshments £42.0.6d
Many thanks to all persons who helped make this shoot a great success, particularly to Mr. J. Flintham, and Mr. R.Storey who organised it for us.
The Saturday following the Shoot, a dance was held in the Village Hall which I am pleased to say was also a great success, a total of £24.0.0d. was made, as follows:-
Expenditure Band, raffle prizes, advertising
Hall,refreshments & Decorations £20.2.7d
Receipts Admission, refreshments & raffle £44.2.7d
I would also like to thank all persons who helped with this event, especially Mr. M. Johnson who promoted it and club members who helped sell the tickets and decorate the hall for the occasion.

Editor’s Note: In 1966 the currency was pounds, shillings and pence. Twenty shillings equalled £1 and 12 pence (d) equalled 1 shilling. Thus £17.0.6d would be £17.02½ in today’s currency.
