My favourite place in Hertford

 

The place I like in Hertford is the broken walls at Hertford Castle. I like them because they go back one thousand years ago and are made out of flint, not bricks. I like that there are also new bits to the wall, which have been added over time since one thousand years ago. When I look at the wall I imagine all the things might have happened at the wall. For example I imagine the castle being attacked by the French. Also there is a place on the wall which I always thought was a place for the King’s crown to be placed but I recently found out it is just a litter bin!
