Clement Henry Crutwell was born around 1795 in Wokingham, Berkshire.
He married Caroline Jones on 18th June 1936 in Watford. Caroline was born around 1813.
Whilst Master of Hertford Grammar School he lived at the Master’s House in Fore Street. In 1851 he was living there with Caroline, three daughters (aged 12, 11, 10) and a seven years old son. Agnes, Caroline’s 22 years old neice was living with them as a nursery governess. Two teachers and 19 students between the ages of 9 & 15 were boarding with them. There were two house servants.
Clement died in October, 1860 and was buried on 3rd November presumably in All Saints’ Churchyard.
