Restoration of St Leonard's Church, 1879 First Committee Meeting

A Meeting of the Committee was held in the School Room on Tuesday May 13th at 5.30 p.m.

Present.            Revd J R Thornton in the chair

Revd G J Marshall, Captain Parker, Messrs J Gripper  J N Troughton  T S Carter  T Sheffield   & G E Palmer

It was proposed by Revd C J Marshall seconded by Mr Gripper

That an architect by employed to report on the present condition of the Church, & how it may best be preserved from falling to ruin.  (carried unanimously)

Also resolved that Revd C J Marshall write to Mr W. White & request him to examine the Church & report as above.

Mr Sheffield was instructed to board up the vestry window, & to put up a notice board in the churchyard.
