ST. LEONARD’S CHURCH

A meeting of the Standing Committee of the Church Council took place on August 12th.  Mr. S. Purkis-Ginn attended and gave a report on the state of affairs at the old Church.  Investigation has shown that the woodworms are dropping from the roof timbers and a thorough inspection of the roof is essential to ascertain the extent of the damage.  The presence of the death-watch beetle is not suspected.

It was decided to call in the services of an architect qualified to deal with the work for a preliminary examination and report which will be laid before the Church Council as soon as possible.

The committee would express their thanks to Mr. Purkis-Ginn and to Mr. Beckwith, both of whom have been of considerable assistance with expert advice and interest in the matter.
