Thomas Simmons, murderer, awaiting trial in Hertford Gaol, 1807.

A horrific double murder at Borham House, Hoddesdon, led to the execution of 20 year old Thomas Simmons on 7 March 1808. One of the victims of the frenzied stabbing was the young, pregnant wife of John Warner (who founded a local school).
