Me, (Philip Wright) as a Scout as a boy from Cecil Road.

Philip Wright

Some of us Cecil Road kids were in the scouts and I was also in the St. John Ambulance Brigade when they used to have their training HQ just out the back of Mill Bridge, right next to the River Lea, and also I was in the Army Cadets which were based at the entrance to the Hartham Common, via Port Hill. Later on in life I was also a member of 257 Gen Hospital Southern (TA) Harrow Detachment.
This is a photo of myself, Philip Wright, and my sister, Erica, standing on the bend of Warren Park Road, Bengeo, on St. Georges day, 1964, just before we attended Holy Trinity Church, where I delivered to the congregation the Scout promise and Scout law. I am in the uniform of 1st Hertford Scouts.
Later in life I became assistant Scout Leader at 1st Elstree & Borehamwood Scout troop, Scout Leader trainer at Well End Scout center, and also Assistant District Commissioner scoutsĀ for Elstree District.

Ahhh, such happy days….!
