Remembering Going Out on Bank Holidays

Anthony Powell

I’m going back to 1968, or perhaps before that, when me alongside my mum and my two uncles and aunt used to go out on bank holidays in my uncle’s car. We would go to Southend as well as, if I can remember, Skegness. Another place we visited in those days was the model village at Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire.

These are just a few places we visited back then. Good times long gone, I’m afraid to say.
