The only hospital there had ever been in Ware was a TB (tuberculosis) sanatorium at the Canons Hotel (now the Roebuck) which transferred to Ware Park in 1922.
Does anyone know how long a hospital keeps patient records. My dad was in this hospital for near on a year in 1956 , he has his lungs drains twice a week of fluid . He was on Spinney ward , the doctors he mentioned in his letters were Me Tubbs, Doctor Newall, Doctor Acther. My dad was sent to Hill end hospital in St Albans for a lung op the back to Ware. He was 49 when he died , I was a baby my sister was 4 .
My Great Grandmother died here in 1939. I’m trying to track down what happened to her afterwards because my Grandfather has never been to her gravesite to say a proper goodbye.

I worked at this hospital in 1971 for a dr. Arnold Pines, a well renowned chest physician.
The remaining, limited archives are at Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies at County Hall.
I wonder where records are archived? I believe my grandfather died in the Sanatorium in 1941. I would love to research archives.
